Open Homes Open Hearts
Canada is often described as a nation of immigrants. History bears that out, and today nearly 250,000 people from around the globe come to Canada each year, seeking a brighter future. However, the journey to attain their goals is not always easy.
Take a simple step to let God work through you!
Open Homes is a warm, inviting way to build relationships and share the Gospel with your intercultural friends through a theme based party in someone’s home. As your teams start to work and pray together, you can create great environments where people from different cultures can feel accepted and loved and enjoy a fun evening of games, conversation and food.
During the event, they will also have the opportunity to hear from someone who will share how their faith in Christ has helped them deal with the challenges of life. The sharing is always authentic and uplifting and the guests invariably leave feeling encouraged and often with a desire to know Jesus personally!
Our Intercultural Network staff are available to coach your teams to:
• Choose the right members
• Select a venue, a date and a theme
• Invite guests
• Choose a speaker or speaker couple and help them prepare to share the Gospel effectively
• Host the party
• Help people discover more about Jesus through post-party conversations or Discovery Groups!

Here are several changed life stories:
(Surrey, BC, Canada- Dec 2007) Said one immigrant after being trained to use the Open Homes Open Hearts kit, “Most important of all, the teenagers were able to blend in and have good time playing modern games with their parents. It was also a good bonding time for all. One of the families is non-Christian, and we got to know them better. I hope to do more such gathering with them.”
(Immigrant from Burnaby – May 2008) “This was so easy to do. Invite others to come and celebrate Mother’s Day. It’s our day! I was glad to see how this was done and now I want to try it in my home.”
“This ministry is one of the greatest things that has happened to me in my Christian life.” – Ray, former fireman, Christian for 30 years
