Tips for hosting

1. Make introductions and encourage conversation around the table. Take your seat facing the podium. Questions to ask: Where are you from? How long have you been in Canada? Where’s home for you?

2. Enjoy getting to know each guest, steering clear of conversation about church, Bible study, or sensitive issues like politics. Smile lots.

3. Listen to each guest and try to connect people through their interests, nationality or work/ family situations.

4. When it’s time, complete your own Comment Card and collect all the cards by putting them back into the envelope and leaving it at the resource table or at a designated place.

5. At the end of the luncheon, encourage guests to linger to chat or go to the resource table or pick up the booklets at your table.
